YouTube Video Captor is a download manager for Windows. As its name suggests, it can be used to download videos from YouTube.com. But it has a lot of different features that set it apart from other video downloaders. It supports HTTP and FTP downloads and contains a download accelerator, which basically opens several connections to download a file faster.
In my testing, I played with two of the app's features. First, I tried to download YouTube videos. I found the interface very easy for this task. All required from me was to add a video URL. The application automatically detected that the URL was from a YouTube video and started the process. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the downloader to work. In one of my machines, the application turned Windows into a slow mess. On the other one, the download simply gave a "failed" error. The second feature I tested was the FTP explorer. This one worked like a charm. It displayed FTP directories well and downloads weren't a problem.
All in all, this is a nice idea for a download manager. It has a great interface and lots of features, but the YouTube downloader doesn't work.
- Nice list of features
- Nice interface
